What is Pandebono?

Pandebono is a delicious and traditional Colombian cheese bread, originating from the Valle del Cauca department. It is characterized by its unique texture: crispy on the outside and incredibly soft, airy, and chewy on the inside. It is primarily made from cassava (tapioca) starch, cornmeal, fresh cheese (like queso costeño), and egg. Traditionally, it is eaten hot, fresh out of the oven, and is the perfect accompaniment to a cup of coffee or hot chocolate for breakfast or an afternoon snack.

It is a light snack, with a very airy crumb and a pronounced milky flavor, ideal for accompanying coffee or hot chocolate in the morning.
